You can enjoy great panoramic city views of Bangkok from Bayoke II Observation Deck, 84th floor. It’s the second tallest building of the city, after Mahanakon Tower which was build recently. The price is 350 baht per person. It’s a 10-15 minutes walk from CentralWorld.
I choose a sunny day to go there. However, if you plan to go there to take professional pictures, you have to be there from 4pm to 5pm . The rest of the time the revolving floor is moving which could make you picture less sharp, even if you shoot at a high speed. This makes of course impossible any long pose picture at night time… I’ll need to find another roof to take panoramic night pictures.
Most of the pictures feature Rachaprasong, Siam, Ploenchit, and Sukhumvit.
You can see many landmarks of Bangkok . from left to right : the Conrad Hotel, Central Embassy, the Park Chidlom, Noble Ploenchit, Benjakitti Park (small lake visible) , Marriott Sukhumvit, Terminal 21, Emporium.
most of the pictures are HDR : I shot 3 exposures, mixed them in Aurora HDR pro, and edited in Lightroom. This process gives a better dynamic range to the picture, which is closer to what we see with our eyes.
In the background you can see the Chao Praya river, and behind the river is the Bang Krachao green space, also known as Bangkok’s green lungs .
I shot these pictures with a Sony A7R2, and the Sony G Master lens 24-70F2.8 . Aperture was set the F10, a good compromise to have a high shutter speed and most of the image in focus.
This is Siam and Rachaprasong. The green space is the Royal Sport Club.
